Liquid production rate  One of the methods you can use to bring production back up is gas lift, which involves pumping gas into the tube line below the surface of the liquid in the well. The gas forces the fluid through the tubing and to the surface. Gas lift works for a wide range of production rates, anywhere from 50 to 50,000 barrels of oil per day. However, gas lift is not very effective or efficient if the production rate or reservoir pressure gets too low. When this occurs, other artificial lift methods must be utilized. Pumping. The second method for artificial lift involves pumping. Gas lift or bubble pumps use the artificial lift technique of raising a fluid such as water or oil by introducing bubbles of compressed air, water vapor or other vaporous bubbles into the outlet tube. This has the effect of reducing the hydrostatic pressure in the outlet tube vs. the hydrostatic pressure at the inlet side of the tube. The vast majority of gas lift wells are produced by continuous flow, which is very similar to natural flow. Fig. 1 shows a schematic of a gas-lift system. In continuous-flow gas lift, the formation gas is supplemented with additional high-pressure gas from an outside source.
