The chart of accounts is a list of all your company’s accounts and balances. QuickBooks uses this list to organize your transactions on your reports and tax forms. Your chart of accounts also organizes your transactions so you know how much money you have and owe in each account. What chart of accounts can QB provide me for personal (non-business) financial record keeping? Personal expense tracking does not fit the business chart of accts given. I'm not an Accountant by any means, but I'm going to have to disagree. Once your company files opens, you can find your Chart of Accounts by going to the top menu bar and under Lists click on Chart of Accounts. Now you will see the complete list of accounts that QuickBooks set up for you.
